Mark Scott

Substance use disorders are both acute and chronic with a possible origin in genetics, trauma induced stress events, and adverse social influences. These disorders are now considered on a spectrum from mild, medium, severe. Too often, people have been placed in the wrong treatment milieu because they were misidentified as having an addiction just because they used a substance without considering the amount, length of use, quality of the substance. This disorder is estimated to affect 1 in 5 people in our country. At present, it is endemic in our culture. It affects not only the individual, but also the family, friends, and associates.

I have 35 years in recovery from a substance use disorder. I have worked in the field of chemical dependency for 30 years. I am the past founder and director of a recovery home for men which I ran for 20 plus years. I have worked in Outpatient, Residential, and Detoxification settings. I am DOT qualified and Graduate of Antioch University.

I have worked with thousands of individuals with a substance use disorder, co-occurring, and other addictions offering assistance in developing a recovery oriented, and healthy lifestyle for all.
